Caerte van Ysland

Lootsman father and son started making nautical charts in competition with Blaeu and Janssonius in the middle of the 17th century. The family name was Jacobsz but they used Lootsman to distinguish themselves from others with the same name. From their hand there are several collections of charts that were published in various languages. Iceland appears on a few of them including this special map which seems to derive from Van Keulen.
