Nieuwe wassende zee caart van de Noord-Oceaen

The biggest and most influential name in the history of Dutch nautical charts was the firm of Van Keulen, founded by Johannes van Keulen, whose earliest collection of charts is reckoned to date from 1680. The business later increased in the hands of his sons and other descendants after his death.
The map spans the North Atlantic and the surrounding countries. The shape of Iceland is probably based on the Joris Carolus type rather than other maps by Van Keulen. The year 1745 is printed on the map and it seems to have been made as a separate sheet and never incorporated in one of the atlases by Van Keulen.
