    "@value" : "The biggest and most influential name in the history of Dutch nautical charts was the firm of Van Keulen, founded by Johannes van Keulen, whose earliest collection of charts is reckoned to date from 1680. The business later increased in the hands of his sons and other descendants after his death.<br>\r\nThe map spans the North Atlantic and the surrounding countries. The shape of Iceland is probably based on the Joris Carolus type rather than other maps by Van Keulen. The year 1745 is printed on the map and it seems to have been made as a separate sheet and never incorporated in one of the atlases by Van Keulen."

Það var sett á stofn af Johannesi van Keulen undir lok 17. aldar og hélst í höndum ættarinnar til ársins 1823. Talið er að það hafi gefið út ekki færri en 135 bindi sjókorta með nálægt 600 mismunandi kortum og kemur Ísland fyrir á nokkrum þeirra.<br>\r\nKortið spannar Atlantshaf og löndin umhverfis, það nær skammt suður fyrir Bretlandseyjar og norður fyrir Jan Mayen. Lögun Íslands virðist fremur vera af stofni Jorisar Carolusar en að vera af þeirri gerð sem algeng var á sjókortum á þessum tíma. Ártalið 1745 er prentað á kortið og sennilega hefur það aldrei komið í sjókortasöfnum Van Keulens heldur verið prentað sem lausblaðakort."
