In the first edition of Ortelius' map collection, Theatrum orbis terrarum, from 1570, we find amongst others this map of Europe. It is most similar to Ortelius' own world map from 1564, but various elements are taken from Mercator's world map from 1569, e.g. the Iceland version. Interestingly Frislanda is missing and the east coast of North America is called Labrador and not Estotiland. The map was then published in subsequent editions of the book.
