In the upper left hand corner we see a map of Iceland of the Knoff-type (14.5×19.6 cm). John Thomson was a Scottish map publisher in Edinburgh. Among other things, he published a collection of maps, New General Atlas, in four editions from 1814-1828 and the map is from anyone of them.
