Herman Moll was a mapmaker who worked in England but was of Dutch origin. The map's version of Iceland has, like the author, it roots in Holland, it is a copy the map of Joris Carolus. The Western Fiords are shaped like a triangle and south and east coasts are too straight. On the same sheet as the map of Iceland are two other maps, of the Faroe Islands and a whirlpool in the sea.
