The map appeared for the first time in Moses Pitt's English Atlas but he and others had taken over the map publishing of Johannes Janssonius after the latter died. It is based on the map by Joris Carolus but with a new name and new ornamental border. Iceland itself is printed unchanged from the engraving by Janssonius. Beneath the title, next to Moses Pitt, are the names of the publishers Johannes van Waesbergen, Janssonius' son-in-law, and Stephen Swart.
