Niels Horrebow's book about Iceland was published in German (1753), English (1758), and French (1764), the author's copy of the Knoff map accompanying all of them. Longer or shorter extracts from it appeared in various collections of voyages during the decades following, including A. F. Prévost's Histoire Générale des Voyages (1768 og 1779) and Jean François de la Harpe's edition of it (1780). The copy of the map in the previously mentioned books had gone through the hands of the famous French cartographer Jacques Nicolas Bellin.
