Það var sett á stofn af Johannesi van Keulen undir lok 17. aldar og hélst í höndum ættarinnar til ársins 1823. Talið er að það hafi gefið út ekki færri en 135 bindi sjókorta með nálægt 600 mismunandi kortum og kemur Ísland fyrir á nokkrum þeirra.<br />Íslandsgerð kortsins er svipuð og var á mörgum hollenskum sjókortum á 17. og 18. öld. Landið er mjög stórskorið og Vestfirðir eru klofnir í tvo skaga sem vísa norður og vestur."
