    "@value" : "A French map dealer in Paris, Hieronymus Gourmont, published in 1548 a copy of the Iceland section of Carta Marina. In two corners we see framed text which is a version of the text that accompanied the map by Olaus Magnus. The text is primarly a description of the country. On a ship in the bottom left hand corner we see the year 1546 and it is likely that the wood-carving is from that year. If we look at the map as a whole we see it is a quite a good copy of Iceland as it appears on Carta Marina. One place-name has been added, the volcano that was nameless has gotten the name Helgefelt. Only one copy of the map by Gourmont exists today and is preserved in the Grossherzogliche Bibliothek in Weimar. The map shown here is a copy of unknown origin."

    "@value" : "Franskur kortasali í París, Hieronymus Gourmont, gaf árið 1548 út eftirmynd af Íslandshluta Norðurlandakorts Olaus Magnus. Í ramma niðri í hægra horninu er prentaður í dálítið breyttri gerð hinn latneski skýringartexti sem fylgdi korti Olausar. Í efra horninu til vinstri er stutt landlýsing sem er líka að mestu sótt til Olausar. Á skipi á kortinu sést ártalið 1546 og er líklegt að myndamótið sé gert þá þó að prentun drægist í tvö ár. Ef litið er á kortið í heild sést að það er allgóð eftirgerð af Íslandi eins og það birtist á Carta marina. Ísafjörður hefur verið færður aðeins norðar og dýraheiti færð yfir í lesmálstexta. Einu örnefni hefur verið bætt við, eldfjall sem er nafnlaust á Norðurlandakortinu er búið að fá nafnið Helgefelt. Aðeins eitt eintak hefur komið í leitirnar af korti Gourmonts og er það varðveitt í Grossherzogliche Bibliothek í Weimar. Kortið sem hér er sýnt er eftirmynd frá síðari öldum."
