Þegar hann lést árið 1579 tók Sebastian, sonur hans, við útgáfunni. Honum þótti tími til kominn að endurnýja kort bókarinnar áður en hún væri gefin út að nýju. Ekki er vitað hver tók verkið að sér en sá gerði 26 landabréf með kort Abrahams Orteliusar í Theatrum orbis terrarum að undirstöðu og litu þau fyrst dagsins ljós í útgáfu Kosmógrafíunnar 1588. Norðurlandakort Münsters birtist nú í gjörbreyttri mynd og líkist mjög Norðurlandakorti Orteliusar enda er það kort fyrirmyndin. Svo kann að virðast við fyrstu skoðun að höfundur sýni einhverja viðleitni til að auka á margbreytileika strandlengju Íslands. Á norðvesturhorn landsins er kominn skagi, tengdur mjóu eiði við meginlandið og myndar hann mikinn flóa fyrir Norðurlandi. Mikill fjallgarður er dreginn á mitt landið og tvö af þremur stöðuvötnum, gömlum arfi frá Olaus Magnus, eru orðin að fjörðum á suður- og austurströndinni.
