The map is the first lithography of Iceland."

Í þeim var þess freistað í fyrsta sinn að gera landabréf í stóru sniði af allri jörðinni í samfelldum mælikvarða.<br>\r\nStrandlengja Íslands er gerð eftir yfirlitskorti Pouls de Løvenørns sem hann byggði á strandmælingunum hér við land í byrjun 19. aldar. Inn til landsins er stuðst við kort af gerð Jóns Eiríkssonar. Flest sýsluskil eru merkt inn á kortið, þó er þeim sleppt á nokkrum stöðum. Mun vera fyrsta steinprentaða kortið af Íslandi."
