Islande

Author:
Philippe Vandermaelen
Country:
Netherlands
Publication year:
1827

Vandermaelen was a Belgian geographer. Between the years 1825-1827 he published a six volume collection of maps under the name of Atlas universell.
The outline of the country follows the coastal charts as far as they go and the rest of the country is based on older maps derived from Thomas Hans Henrik Knoff, probably one of Jón Eiríksson's. The map is the first lithography of Iceland.
